Call to Chivalry Weekends

This year the Academy started holding Call to Chivalry Weekends. The first was in November, the last in April. On these weekends, young men--some of them prospective students--come to the Academy for talks, games, and outings.
In April we went with Weekend participants to Penn's Cave. Boats were ready for us at the cave entrance, where fish could be seen eating in the water. The cave was damp and dark. A guide beamed his light onto features of the cave and explained them as we went from “room” to “room.” We thought the Cathedral Room marvelous; some of its stone formations resemble angels singing in a church choir. Another “room” had bats in it. We tried to awake them with our camera flashes. All the rooms have stalactites and stalagmites. Even God’s hidden creation is awesome.

On the return trip, we recited a “Public Square” Rosary close to Bucknell University, in Lewisburg. Many drivers gave us a friendly honk in approval. Some pedestrians liked what they saw; others did not, unfortunately.
It is great to have other students visit us. We look forward to more Call to Chivalry Weekends next school year.
