About the Academy Crest

The coat of arms of St. Louis de Montfort Academy embodies the high ideals and spiritual mission that guide our institution. At the heart of the shield lies a golden “M” on a blue field, symbolizing our deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This Marian focus is central to the Academy’s spiritual formation and is inspired by our patron, St. Louis de Montfort, whose writings emphasize total consecration to Jesus through Mary.

Crossed behind the “M” are a sword and a plume, representing the Academy's commitment to spiritual combat — not with physical arms, but with the power of the written and spoken word, guided by the sword of truth and reason.

A white cross on a red field evokes a love for the Holy Cross of Our Savior and a readiness to embrace the daily crosses of life. The red signifies the courage and sacrifice required to defend the Church and Christian civilization. The white reflects the purity of Catholic doctrine and the virtue of chastity, both of which are held in the highest esteem.

Above the shield rests a crown, symbolizing a hierarchical spirit and a noble love for both the natural and supernatural orders. It points to the Academy’s aspiration to form young men who recognize and uphold the virtues necessary for rebuilding Christian society.

More than a mere emblem, the Academy’s coat of arms serves as a visual mission statement. It calls each student to a life of holiness, courage, intellectual formation, and unwavering fidelity to the Catholic Faith — all under the patronage of Our Lady and the inspiration of St. Louis de Montfort.

The Academy Motto

“Ut adveniat Regnum Tuum, adveniat Regnum Mariae”
“Lord, that Thy Kingdom may come, may the Reign of Mary come.”
This motto, drawn from the writings of St. Louis de Montfort, expresses the Academy’s ultimate hope: the establishment of Christ’s reign on earth through the triumph of His Blessed Mother.

In his spiritual masterpiece, True Devotion to Mary, St. Louis de Montfort writes: “It was through the Most Holy Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ came into the world; again it is through her that He must reign in the world.”

He prophesied an era in which Our Lord would reign more fully, when the Church would triumph, and when the Gospel would inform all aspects of life. He called this era the Reign of Mary — a time when Our Lady would be enthroned in the hearts of men as Queen, leading souls to the dominion of her Divine Son.

“That day will dawn only when the devotion I teach is understood and put into practice: Ut adveniat Regnum tuum, adveniat Regnum Mariae — Lord, that Thy Kingdom may come, may the Reign of Mary come.” St. Louis de Montfort

This motto is both a prayer and a battle cry, guiding the Academy in its mission to form young men who will work for the coming of that glorious reign — in their own souls, in society, and in the world.
